Amrita Arora-Usman headed for splitsville?

There seems to be trouble in the Amrita Arora-Usman Afzal paradise.

Buzz is that the actress and the London-based cricketer have mutually decided to go their separate ways after they realised that the distance was too much of a strain on the relationship. Reports suggesting a link-up between Amrita and model Sahil Shroff didn’t help either, apparently.

When we asked Amrita, she said that she did not want to comment on the entire episode, but did not deny the news. Usman was unavailable for comment, but Sahil says there is nothing to the rumour that Amrita is seeing him. “I can’t say anything to clear the air because the air is clear!” he says. “Amrita and I’ve been very good friends. She and I go back ten years. We went to college together – Jai Hind College in Mumbai – and we were in the same gang of friends. I’m bearing the brunt for something that’s not true. I’m single,” he says. But has Amrita broken up with Usman? “No, she hasn’t. She is still very much with him,” he answers. But why is he in the middle of a controversy? “I don’t know. But it’s okay. I guess this is a part of the industry. These gossipmongers have come between my friendship with Amu.

They’ve caused a lot of harm already. However, Amu and I are mature enough to handle this. These rumours don’t bother us. She certainly has not broken up because of me. In fact, she hasn’t broken up at all,” he answers

The lovely lass tells us that people have been constantly asking her about her weight loss and are always comparing her goals to that of best friend, Kareena’s. Buzz was that she’s taken to yoga for toning up, and getting that much talked about size-zero figure. There were also whispers of her going for a crash diet.

Says Amrita, “I was always thin; I don’t know why people are making a big deal of this. Also, I’m not size zero, I’m size eight!” So there, folks, here is one lady who’s not dying for a size zero figure, and what’s more, doesn’t shying away from talking about her size either!

Amrita Arora won't do the towel dance

It would have been a sizzling performance had some contractual problems not prevented Amrita Arora from committing to former actor Kamal Sadanah’s movie Victoria 203. Amrita had agreed to play the unusual part of a woman masquerading as a man in the modern-day remake of the 1973 movie ‘Victoria 203’. She was also supposed to do a hot dance number in a towel.

But now Amrita has walked out of the project because of some contractual problems. Reports have it that the contract that Amrita was given to sign had many preconditions. It would have kept her away from other projects she wanted to do.Amrita presently has Atul Agnihotri’s movie Hello , Vikram Bhatt’s Red and Speed . She is also said to have signed some shows for Castrol in Delhi and Mumbai.In October, when Amu had given her nod to ‘Victoria 203’, she sounded very excited about reprising the role that was once played by Saira Banu.The movie is the first production venture by Kamal Sadanah. It has Om Puri , Anupam Kher and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles.

Amrita-Kareena friends forever

Mumbai, Amrita Arora's budding camaraderie with Kareena Kapoor comes as a surprise amid the alleged catfights and bickering in Bollywood.

And Amrita says that their friendship defies the notion that two actresses can never be friends, reports Bollywood Trade.

"I adore Kareena. We are very close and I hope to maintain my friendship with her," said Amrita effusively, adding: "Bebo and I are an example of the fact that two actresses can be friends."

Kareena too is all praise for Amrita.

"I really like that girl. She's fun, easy-going, hassle-free and honest - just like me. I make friends for life. For example, my best friend has been with me from school. Amrita too will remain with me," Kareena is quoted as saying in an interview.

Amrita is upfront about all her relationships and her equation with cricketer Usman Afzal is no different.

Unlike other actors, she neither denies being in a relationship nor dismisses it as the customary "we are just friends" justification.

"Firstly, you wouldn't be in a relationship if you're ashamed of it. Usman is a great guy. He has been very supportive and pushes me to do better. Usman and I compliment each other," said Amrita.

College days are always considered as golden days of ones life. Bunking lectures just to hang out with friends is common among all students. That’s what gave the VJ turned actress Amrita Arora an ‘Outstanding’ student tag in college. Here Amrita reminisces her college days.

Being younger sister of Malaika Arora she has always received that extra attention in Jai Hind College. “Since my sister was my senior in Jai Hind, people were quite curious to know who Malaika Arora’s sister was. So the attention I got on the first day of college was overwhelming. I’ll never forget that day”, Amrita recalls.

It not only helped to seek attention but also to get monetary help from her elder sister. “My mom used to give me 500 bucks a week, but of course I used to spend it all in a day. Luckily since Malaika was in the same college, she used to help me out when I was broke.” She quips.

Looking back to her college days the actress memorizes that she used to enjoy making friends.Also enjoyed hanging out with them outside the Jai Hind, Sydhenam & H.R. College campus.

Revealing her naughty aspect of personality she recalls that she was blacklisted and there was a system where one could ‘hire parents’ for Rs. 150. But she failed as her parents were quite well known in college because of Malaika. And she got busted by the principal that day.
