Kareena Kapoor No More ‘Golmaal Returns’

Maybe ‘3 Idiots' success has made Kareena Kapoor more selective about her roles, instead of concentrating into lesser challenging roles she is more into roles that places her more in the demand.

Previously she has worked for ‘Golmaal Returns’ and was happy to be part of the film but reportedly she is not satisfied about the screen space given to her.

When Rohit Shetty was enquired about Kareena’s unhappiness for her part of share in ‘Golmaal 3’, Rohit insists, “There has been no such problem. Kareena is a wonderful person, everyone got along just fine, and nobody has gone about complaining to anybody about anything.”

He adds, “How can I think about the casting when the script isn’t yet ready? Absolutely nothing has been decided yet!”

Currently, Rohit is busy scripting for ‘Golmaal 3’and regarding ‘All The Best’ he states, “People are of the opinion that there should be one, but we’ll take it one step at a time. Let me finish ‘Golmaal 3’ and then maybe we will give it a thought!”

Kareena is sick, advised rest

Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor is down with food poisoning and she is resting at home. She was feeling unwell while shooting for an ad film at Mehboob studio. Somehow, she completed her shoot and went home. On reaching home when she consulted her doctor, she was diagnosed with food poisoning. Currently, she is resting at home.

“Kareena even cancelled her media interactions that she had scheduled for Sunday afternoon. She normally follows a very healthy diet, but she must have definitely eaten something that didn’t agree with her. She is recuperating now that she is under medication,” added the sources.

Bebo confirmed the news of her illness saying that she is taking her doc’s advice seriously and is on a complete break for the past two days. “I am getting better and looking forward to my film’s release,” said the sexy siren.

Mumbai: Guess who Kareena Kapoor runs to when she wants to get out of the "daily grind" of Bollywood? It's her four-year-old niece Samaira!


"She was literally born into my arms! Being with her makes me forget who I am and the daily grind my profession makes me go through. Watching her grow up is such a great experience. We talk to each other a lot and she always likes to tell me what happened at her dance classes," says Kareena.

According to Bebo, Samaira has already developed a great ear for music. "The moment she hears a good number, she dances to it. This is a sure indicator to me about how the track would fare in the long run. She likes to draw too, you know," says the indulgent mausi.

If she depends on her niece to judge a music number, then it's her elder sister she turns to when it comes to deciding film projects. "It's true that it was Lolo (Karisma) who told me to take up the movie opposite Salman. I have been watching Salman since I was nine years old and an earlier movie with him didn't do as expected. But she insisted that I take up Main Aur Mrs Khanna because it had a great script and also because she felt I would look very good with Salman. I trusted her blindly on that."

While she's known to keep social networking sites at arm's length, Kareena reveals she has made up her mind to jump in very soon. "I am not on any social networking site at the moment but very soon I will register on a few of them. Everybody tells me that my fans need to get in touch with me directly and I have made up my mind to do that before my other film Qurban releases."

For the time being, Kareena has set up a google alert in her name. "Whenever my name appears on any online media, I get a link to it in my mailbox. It's a pretty scary thing because I wake up to read so many things which are not true. You either need to forget that stuff or just laugh it off," she ends.

Spectra Multimedia films is planning to make a film on the love triangle of Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, according to reports.

The film titled The Secret Life of Kareena will reveal the hidden truths of Bebo's life. it will also show reasons why did Bebo dump Shahid and then what made her fall in love with Saif.

To avoid any controversy, the protagonists will be named the characters as Karina, Saifee and Shaheed.

Reports are that the makers are not getting the right stars as no one is willing to portray the real actors characters.

The production house had reportedly approached actress Shradha Sharma for Karina s role but the actress politely turned it down. Now let's see who all will fit into these three roles.

This is her first film in 2009, but certainly not her last, she has Main Aur Mrs Khanna with Salman Khan, Kurbaan with Saif Ali Khan and 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan all lined up for October-November. In between, she will be shooting for Agent Vinod and Stepmom, 100 days each from September onwards. Nowadays she reads the scripts (“the whole scripts, twice over”) before accepting a film. “Earlier, I used to give in to temptation, greed, often do the film for a friend. Now I only do it for the role. My role has to be the central part ... or no way,” she told me bluntly.

I was watching her do a photo shoot at Mehboob Studios, effortlessly changing one costume after another, altering her look with hair and makeup, pouting at the camera, making sensual love to it with smouldering eyes. I distracted her with a question: what does power mean to Bollywood’s No. 1 actress? She took it straight off the bat, “Power to me is the fact that I can choose which film I’d like to do, what brand I want to endorse, which show I want to be part of, what role I want to essay ... Power doesn’t mean I can make any film a super hit and every show houseful. I’ve put in ten years of blood and sweat, 18 hours of work a day, just to get here. Lots of films I wanted to do, I was not a part of because nobody approached me. But I went to sleep at night knowing it would happen to me. And I made it happen. I don’t have many people to thank for this. So, I would like audiences to recognise me as an actress today. I’m here to sell talent. And my talent is like a temple. I protect it. I worship it. Today I am on the power list, tomorrow I won’t be, but I will continue the effort. I am a courageous girl, I’ve been brave to take decisions. I’m honest — I don’t hide anything, not my relationship, nor the fact that I want to do path-breaking roles like in Omkara, Chameli and Jab We Met. I want to be known for my body of work. It is true, I think, nothing seems to matter to this girl; certainly not the power, nor box-office success and failure, the critics’ comments, the competition within the industry for her coveted status as the No. 1 actress... nothing matters but her next role. And she’s using her power to fuel the passion within her for films and to demand more challenging and different roles. “My mother, my sister Karisma, told me not to let it go to my head,” she said. “How can I do that? My career and acting are most important to me. The flame is in my blood, the fire is always burning, it comes across in every photo. Can’t you see that?”

Actor Kareena Kapoor is busy shooting in Venice for Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakht Ishq. And one wonders how the vegetarian is coping with her diet and staying away from the Venetian wonders. BT speaks to her dietician-nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar.

Called the 'chana-singdaana' girl of the fraternity thanks to her constant munching of chana and peanuts on the sets, Kareena has stunned everybody. So what does Bebo do to eat right - take her dietician and cook along with her wherever she goes, perhaps?

"The only thing that Kareena takes along with her is her diet plan, her calcium and vitamin B supplements. And if she is shooting in a remote place very far away from civilization, she'll carry along with her packets of chana, peanuts, yoghurt and soy milk," informs her dietician, "I plan for Kareena way in advance. I try to locate some good restaurants for her and suggest what she should eat where. I try and locate local health stores where she can pick up her yogurts, packs of soymilk and fruits from. My motto is 'Think global, eat local'. I encourage all my clients to have the local food wherever they go instead of having them carry packets of khakhra from back home," says Rujuta.

So currently in Venice, what is Bebo gorging on? "In Venice, she is eating wholesome pasta with gorgonzola cheese. She's filling herself up with malta, minestrone soup... When she's in Bangkok, she feasts on Thai curry, steamed rice and noodles. And if some insist that New York is of burgers, chips and colas, it's also a place for salads and soups. When Bebo was shooting in Ladakh recently, she had tented accommodation. What she ate there? Momos and thuppa noodles! You see, the diet changes with the place you're in. For example, in a place like Ladakh, which is 3500 m above sea level where the sun shines bright, you get dehydrated, the travel leads to multiple dehydration, so you automatically up the carbohydrate and liquid intake. The logic behind increasing the carbs in your diet is that if there aren't enough carbs, you can't store enough water. So sometimes it's essential to have a carb-rich diet."

It was actually on the sets of Yash Raj Films Tashan that Bebo and Saif started seeing each other after Kareena had dumped her boyfriend of four years, Shahid Kapoor.

The grapevine has it that the couple, who were last seen in Omkara though not as a pair, are likely to announce their marriage plans post Tashan's release.

In February this year, there were rumours that Saif and Kareena had married secretly after which chote nawab said such rumours will only upset both families.

Amrita-Kareena friends forever

Mumbai, Amrita Arora's budding camaraderie with Kareena Kapoor comes as a surprise amid the alleged catfights and bickering in Bollywood.

And Amrita says that their friendship defies the notion that two actresses can never be friends, reports Bollywood Trade.

"I adore Kareena. We are very close and I hope to maintain my friendship with her," said Amrita effusively, adding: "Bebo and I are an example of the fact that two actresses can be friends."

Kareena too is all praise for Amrita.

"I really like that girl. She's fun, easy-going, hassle-free and honest - just like me. I make friends for life. For example, my best friend has been with me from school. Amrita too will remain with me," Kareena is quoted as saying in an interview.

Amrita is upfront about all her relationships and her equation with cricketer Usman Afzal is no different.

Unlike other actors, she neither denies being in a relationship nor dismisses it as the customary "we are just friends" justification.

"Firstly, you wouldn't be in a relationship if you're ashamed of it. Usman is a great guy. He has been very supportive and pushes me to do better. Usman and I compliment each other," said Amrita.
