Actress Soha Ali Khan's tryst with realistic films continues. After Mumbai Meri Jaan, about the serial train blasts, she is doing a movie where she will relive the trauma of July 26, 2005, when torrential rains nearly drowned the city.
"This is my second film based on real trauma that happened to Mumbai. I was in Pondicherry when the Mumbai train blasts happened. I was shooting an ad campaign in Pondicherry. But I was right here in Mumbai when the monsoon deluge happened," Soha said.
"I had gone to town and got trapped in the deluge in the evening. My car broke down and I had to make my way through the deluge. A friend found me walking through the water. We went to a mutual friend's house where I spent the night dressed in someone else's clothes," she added.
Mukesh Bhatt will produce the yet to be titled project and Soha will team up with Emraan Hashmi in the film.
"We're shooting the film in November. It's a love story set on the night of the floods in Mumbai. Kunal Deshmukh, who did Jannat, is directing it," Soha said.
Soha says that rainy day she didn't eat at all.
"And, of course, lost my slipper in the dirty water. I was submerged in the water. And I pretended I was someone else when Kunal Kohli spotted me wading through the water. Getting home was never more pleasurable."
Soha's home, which she bought last year, keeps getting additional stuff.
"Every time my mom visits, she adds, or takes away, something into it. I feel very settled now in my house. I love being at home. And I like to be by myself. Being a little mysterious is good, no? "
Asked about her marriage plans, she said: "Have you been talking to my mother? If you mean marriage then right now I feel too young and too selfish to share my space with anyone else. Both my elder sister and brother are unmarried. Let them get married. I'm not mature enough to think of marriage."
"I don't have a vision beyond a year. And I don't see it happening in a year. But I do want to get married and I do want to have a couple of kids. When I decide to marry, I'll start thinking about who it would be to," said the actress who was until recently dating her Rang De Basanti co-star Siddharth.
Speaking about her brother Saif and his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, she said, "They're both very happy together. It's a very strong relationship. I'm looking for a similar permanency in my life. But let me tell you, I'm happy in the place that I am in. So I don't need to be envious of anyone else's happiness."

Soha Ali Khan : Soha comes back with a fresh dose of laughter in `99`
New Delhi, Sept 03: Soha Soha Ali Khan, who has been on a hiatus after ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’, has come back with a new role in the upcoming comedy ‘99’. She talks to Spicezee.com about her new movie and her roles.
Q: This seems a very different kind of movie, with such a unique name!
Soha: Yes, it is a new kind of name, and the movie is a comedy about the lives of people, who want to achieve something extra in their lives.
Q: Tell us something about your co-actors in the movie?
Soha: My co-actors in the movie are Kunal Khemu, Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha, among others.
Q: You have essayed such a variety of roles in your movies, how did you feel in this comic role?
Soha: I have already done two comic roles previously, this is my third role.
Q: How did you find the role?
Soha: Making people cry is difficult enough, but making people laugh is even tougher!
Q: Tell us something about your role in the movie.
Soha: I play the role of Puja, who works as a hotel manager in Delhi. She is a very professional girl, also stylish and outspoken.
Q: The title of your movie is very different, ‘99’, does it have something to do with numerology?
Soha: Yes, the movie’s name is very different and unique. The movie is named ‘99’ because it is the story of the year 1999. Besides, there is another reason for this title. Hypothetically, if life is a cricket match, then the characters of the movie are stuck at the score of 99, and are striving hard to reach their century. The different twists and turns in the plot make it difficult for the characters to score their century, it is a very interesting situation in which the characters are stuck!

Soha Ali Khan found guilty
Actress Soha Ali Khan was on Thursday held guilty of suppressing facts while seeking renewal of her gun license, and also of allowing misuse of her weapon by her father, former cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, allegedly in killing a blackbuck.
District Magistrate Rakesh Gupta cancelled her gun license under section 17 of the Arms Act and ordered a further inquiry into the case.
“Soha can file appeal against this order in the divisional commissioner's court within 30 days. The Jhajjar police would also be informed about the decision, with the request not to release Soha's rifle to her,” Gupta said in his judgement.
The rifle, which was allegedly misused by Pataudi in the blackbuck poaching, is at present in the custody of the Jhajjar police.
Gupta said Soha was issued the arms license in November 1996 when she was below the legal age to acquire it. The responsibility could not be fixed because the original file on the issuance of her gun licence is missing.
Replying to a question, Gupta said had the Jhajjar police informed the Gurgaon administration about the seizure of Soha's rifle in the poaching case, the administration would not have renewed her license.
“We would inform the home department about this lapse on the part of the Jhajjar police. But it was the duty of the actress to inform the district administration that her rifle was in police custody at the time of the renewal. The actress knowingly suppressed this fact, hence she is guilty,” the district magistrate added.
The actress has been charged with obtaining an arms license for her .22 bore rifle Nov 5, 1996, when she had not completed 21 years of age—a legal pre-requisite.
The passport record of Soha, daughter of Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, put her year of birth at 1978, which meant in 1996 she was 18.
The Gurgaon district authorities also sent her a notice demanding an explanation about how the weapon for which she was licensed was used by her father to kill a blackbuck in Haryana's Jhajjar district in 2005. Pataudi was arrested for poaching the protected species animal, and the carcass was seized.
The poaching case, registered June 5, 2005, is being tried in a wildlife and environment court in Faridabad town in Haryana.

Soha Ali's arms licence cancelled
The arms licence issued to film actress Soha Ali Khan, whose rifle was allegedly used by her father and former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi to kill a blackbuck, was cancelled on Thursday by a court in Gurgaon.
Gurgaon District Magistrate Rakesh Gupta cancelled the licence issued to Soha in November 1996 on the ground that she had not attained the mandatory age of 21 years when Soha applied for the licence.
According to the district officials, Soha was only 18 years old when she sought the licence. Under the Arms Act, a person has to be 21 years to get a weapon licence.
The DM, however, took no action against Soha. The original file relating to the licence has gone missing, the officials said.
They maintained that when she got her licence renewed in 2005, Soha did not make any reference to the weapon being allegedly used by Pataudi to hunt a blackbuck in adjoining Jhajjar district.
The District Magistrate, in his order, said that it was the ''moral duty'' on the part of Soha to have disclosed in whose possession the rifle was.
Soha's counsel V Bhushan Arya told mediapersons that Soha might file an appeal against the District Magistrate's order after getting its copy.
Arya claimed that she did not hide her age while applying for the arms licence in 1996 and while getting it renewed in 2005. It was the duty of the police to have verified such issues, he said.
