Shilpa Shetty: The Exotic Cruise

The recently married bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and she husband Raj Kundra are really on seventh heaven and cloud nine.

It has been reported that the two had had a wonderful honeymoon in the Bahamas and had come back to Mumbai for a few days.

They have since left for a two week long holiday in a cruise on the Mediterranean Sea. It is a family affair and according to sources Shilpa was very excited and glowing as she was leaving with the rest of the members, she told reporters that this would be a good way of getting to know her in laws and it would also be the same for them.

According to scribes Shilpa very excitedly said that this would be the first time that she would be going on a cruise and so this was going to be very special for her.

However right now she already is somewhere on the Mediterranean and it seems that they are going to usher in the New Year on the cruise itself.

Wow! That’s all we can say and we do wish Shilpa and her family a very happy New Year in advance.

Shetty and Kiran Bawa at the entrance meeting and greeting each and every guest.

And they were more than overjoyed when Rekha stepped in – yes, the enigmatic lady was there to do the inaugural honours of Iosis Medispa’s flagship outlet in Khar that was far from the madding crowd.

Actually, there was a madding crowd out there what with the presence of Bollywood, corporate bigwigs, television personalities, fashion designers and assorted others. Making heads turn was Sushmita Sen, looking slim and trim.

The champagne was flowing and so, too, the hors d’oeuvres. In fact, the party continued there as guests ate and drank to their heart’s content. And who was there at this stylish and healthy do?

Shilpa Shetty’s international film Desire has put the actress in a dilemma. “This is for the first time that I had to speak all the dialogues in English and so did my Chinese co-star Xia Yu.

When you are so used to saying dialogues in Hindi, English seems a little difficult. But I am happy I got to do this,” said Shilpa. Ahem, Shilpa if we are not wrong post your win at the Big Boss,

Shilpa Shetty to star in India-China film

Mumbai (IANS): Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has been roped in to star in an India-China joint film venture.

Tentatively titled "The Desire", the film will show Shilpa rubbing shoulders with Chinese superstar Xia Yu, who is considered the Shah Rukh Khan of China.

The film is being co-produced by Sharad Hegde and Tracy Shiyun and directed by R. Sarath.

"It is a very prestigious project for us. We have tried to go beyond the boundary of land as well as shackled emotions in the film. It deals with the sensibilities of creative people in the most sensitive manner," said Hegde in a statement released here Friday.

"The Desire" revolves around Goutami (Shilpa), an accomplished Odissi dancer and a talented artist Jai Leang (Yu) and follows the journey of their respective lives until they are separated and brought together again by destiny.

With a background score from Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman, other actors in the film include Jayaprada, Anupam Kher, Sachin Khedekar, Sheetal Menon and Nakul Vaid, apart from Shilpa and Yu in the lead.

Sarath, who is working with Shilpa for the first time is gaga over the actress and thinks her to be the "perfect" choice for the role.

"'The Desire' is a passionate film mainly dealing with dance, music, art, culture and emotions and Shilpa is perfect for the role as she is talented, beautiful and a very graceful dancer. She completely fits the role," Sarath said.

The film goes on floors Jan 11 in Kerala.

However, Yu is not the first Chinese actor to star alongside a Bollywood actor.

Gordon Liu, veteran Chinese martial arts film actor, will be seen in Nikhil Advani's much-awaited action comedy venture "Chandni Chowk To China" releasing Jan 16.

Shilpa Shetty offers condolence to Jade Goody

Shilpa Shetty has offered her condolences to her one time rival Jade Goody after the latter was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The Big Brother star had been appearing on the Indian version of the reality show - known as Bigg Boss - when she was informed of the diagnosis and has flown home to the UK.

And Bollywood actress Shetty, who was the target of alleged racism from Goody when they both appeared on Celebrity Big Brother has offered her support to her former housemate. "I'd like to say on behalf of the people of India that we wish her well and our prayers are with her," she told GMTV.

"It's so sad for someone so young to be diagnosed with such a dreadful illness - it's horrible," Shetty added. Goody's appearance on Bigg Boss had been billed as an attempt to rehabilitate her image after being accused of racism towards Shetty.

Bigg Boss used to be one of the popular shows of Sony Entertainment Television. Now the second season of Bigg Boss is to be aired very soon by a newly launched channel, Colors and the organizers are planning to rope in Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty as the host looking at her popularity quotient that she had earned through Big Brother win.

Her racial discrimination has created much hullabaloo all over. The organizers are trying to take full use of her fame by casting her as a host of the show. To them, she is the perfect choice. Shilpa has been signed with a whopping price of Rs 8 crore by the production house. They are yet to finalize the participants.

Shilpa took some time to give her consent due to the racial discrimination issue. After much thought, she has given her nod to the show. The show will be aired just after Akshay Kumar ends up with Khatron Ka Khidali. Rajesh Kamat, CEO of Colors confirmed the news but he refused to comment anything about the host.

Shilpa makes her production debut, signs Bipasha

B-town's sizzling hotties Shilpa Shetty and Bipasha Basu will be seen together in yet another comic flick while Shilpa gears up to produce it under her own production banner for the very first time.

The sexy babes were earlier seen together in a comic flick 'Chor Machaye Shor'. Shilpa from long time was looking forward to produce a film under her own production banner and the opportunist lass has finally grabbed one for herself. According to sources, Shilpa’s sister Shamita Shetty will be helping her sister in this project.

The movie reportedly will be co-produced by UTV Motion pictures and directed by Manish Jha. The male lead for this flick is yet to be finalised.

Most people believe that hitting the gym to keep fit and lose weight is the right option. But I don’t go by that. There are several things that one needs to know about one’s body to get the weight you have in mind.

I don’t gym much. I believe in yoga which I do religiously every day for an gour. Before going for Big Brother, I realized my Indian figure of big curves would not suit the European concept of beauty. It was then that my trainer suggested weights to get the toned look.

I also believe in eating right. I am a hard core non vegetarian and I eat chicken and fish. Fish is a great source of omega 3 oil which keeps the skin elasticity firm and is a great source of protein with minimum fats. Lean chicken is something I can eat everyday. I avoid red meat. That only increases cholesterol and fat quotient in the body.

But I will share with Indiatimes Movies readers’ my biggest secret for keeping a good body. I only drink warm water. It helps clear toxins from the body and increases the metabolic rate, which in turn helps in burning fat. I did not like drinking water, but once I started drinking warm water, I realized that I needed to drink more to quench my thirst. Today I carry my bottle of warm water whenever I step out of the house. And I do believe that this is one of the key factors in helping me maintain my weight as well as giving me a clear skin and a healthy body.

Shilpa Shetty who was awarded the Global Diversity award managed to raise 63,000 pounds for charity on the gala night.

The star event of the night was when Shilpa auctioned her kisses for a cool 12, 500 pounds to an admirer.

The actress won the prestigious ‘Global Diversity’ award along with British racing driver Lewis Hamilton for making significant contribution to the public appreciation and understanding of diversity.

She also helped the organizers to raise 63,000 pounds for a charity - the Silver Star Appeal - that runs mobile diabetes assessment units

Stepping in to enthuse the charity auction, the Bollywood actress climbed up to the stage, took the mike and told the audience that the winner would get a “kiss from me”.

But Shilpa was quick to add, “It will be on the cheek. I don’t want my effigies burnt again.”

She was obviously referring to the controversy over the Hollywood star Richard Gere kissing her on stage during an AIDS awareness event in New Delhi in April last year which resulted in some Hindu nationalists burning her effigies and slapping court cases against her and Gere in India.

Her admirer got three kisses on his cheek.

Some top stars later on decided to opt out of the tour and new ones came in. The media reports on the enter and exit of the stars at a time even laid down doubts whether the tour will be able to stand up to the expectations.
